Yoga Nidra
"In yoga Nidra the body sleeps, the mind rests, and the consciousness is active"
- Swami Satyananda

What is Yoga Nidra?

During the practice of Yoga Nidra we are moving away from the overstimulation of the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight) which is relied upon when we are stressed or anxious and we use a series of practices to promote the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest).
We induce feelings of physical, mental and emotional relaxation taking you to that sleep state between being awake and going to sleep.
It can help increase the production of endorphins, balance the nervous system and help with deep skeletal and muscular relaxation

Who can practice Yoga Nidra?

Yoga Nidra is suitable for all including those who are pregnant. No previous experience in yoga or Yoga Nidra is required. It is ideal for those who are depressed, anxious, suffer from insomnia or holding onto physical tension in the body.
